Grade Your Blog

This is a tip from my blogger friend Metz. He shared me this great site wherein you can check your blog’s grade. The grade is based on the following points: On-Page SEO (internal links and keywords), Off-Page SEO (traffic and page rank), Blogosphere (blog ranking) and Social Mediasphere (del.icio.us and Digg).

To check your blog’s grade, you don’t need to register for an account. All you need to do is to enter your blog’s URL and your email address. Within a few seconds, a summary report will be displayed with the areas that you need to change or improve. Of course, your blog’s grade is also indicated.

Here are my blogs current grades after following their suggestions:

Makoy’s Memoirs Of A Certified Blogger: 98
Makoy’s Take On The Arts & The Entertainment: 89
Make Money Online With Makoy: 87
Certified Pinoy Blogger: 90

Website Grader is very helpful and it gives you a chance to improve more. You have to take note of these important tips, which I learned from Website Grader:

1. Use Meta tags in your blogs. Some blogs say that it is not important but I guess it has some effect in SEO. Make sure not to exceed to the required number of words and characters for the Meta keywords and Meta description.
2. Use proper text sizes for your post title. It should be bigger than your post date and other unimportant links. SEO follows hierarchy. You don’t want your post date to be indexed than your post title.
3. Use alt keys in your images. As I have mentioned in my previous article, alt keys are the basis for the Images in search engines. Without the alt keys, it will not be indexed.
4. Limit the number of pictures in your sites. It will only slow down the loading of your page. Resizing your images can also help speed up the loading of your page.
5. Submit your blog posts in bookmark sites. It’s always nice to have free advertising.

So, what’s your blog’s grade?
